<br>Owens - Illinois finally decided against doing <u>MINEFIELD</u>. Among other
things, Felicia said that there is now govt. specs [government specifications] on the permissible
noise level for games and toys.
<br>There are a number of non-game items that she and another
client are working on that are coming very well.
<br>They are very interested in "electronic" games or other
playthings.
<br>She tried again to sell them on <u>3D BOXES</u> but they said it
looked too much like other things. They have plenty of
plastic - having layed in a big supply.
<br>I mentioned the Lily Cup <u>GAME</u> and she said that when
she mentioned that I was thinking about such a game they
looked at each other as if something was in the works, but
they didn't say anything.
<br>Told her that I had been working hard on <u>FOREIGN INTRIGUE</u> to have
ready to show <u>Bob Johnson</u> when he comes in in January. She
said that he had said that he would try to come in in January,
but it was definitely not a promise to be here.
<br>Felicia said that manipulative games are the coming thing. I
mentioned that war games and sports games were also
big. She said that the "Sports Illustrated Games" had
folded.
Call from <u>Phil Orbanes</u>. The expanding files cost them
$1.25 in quantities of 6. He ordered 6 for me which I can
probably pick up next week. He'll take the price out of
my <u>REALM</u> royalties. (see his secretary - Carrie.)
<br>Next week he is going to California to look over the
games "Dynamic Design" plans to produce in 1974. The takeover
of D.D.I. by "National Paragon" went thru. D.D.I. and "Hoi-Polloi"
will both be ended and will go under the name of
"Reiss Games."
<br>I asked if "Mag-Nifs" takeover of "Skor-Mor" had gone thru.
No.
<br>"Mag-Nif," however, is opening a showroom at 200 fifth.
<u>Jerry Goldstein</u> will be in charge.
