in endless situations.
MOUNTAIN CLIMB. A sloped field with holes for pegs. Each player has three pegs connected together with string. The field shows the side of a mountain with various hazards. Unfortunately the rules were completely inadequate.
EARTHQUAKE. Didn't go into it, but later in '72 diary saw that there were features similar to CHICKEN.
DEMAND - his new name for FRANCHISE (see 11/4/71). The play is pretty similar, altho it doesn't seem as good now. He did take my suggestion for putting two blank faces on the number die. There are now only three of each "franchise." A player can only "demand" a group that he already has at least one "franchise," but if another player has all three they can be "demanded" as a group. In a "demand" each player throws three times. A new feature and is cards that direct a player to sell back their "franchises" at double the market value. Incidentally the market values for the six types of "franchises" are now kept on a CRIBBAGE board with extra holes drilled. Didn't finish the game. Jerry felt that more excitement could be added. I agreed.
PROGRAM-IT (see 2/16/67). Jerry says there is no change.
OVER THE FALLS. The board is like a checkerboard. The "home" rows at each end are stationary. The rows between (how many?) are on a loop [drawing of a looped board] and can be moved. Jerry still has to work out the details of the game.
I don't know where some of the games came from. Some of the mechanicals ones were done by "Eric" who is Jerry's protégé.
Gave Jerry a copy of HOLIDAY. He said he'd send me a copy of the French version of COUP D'ETAT. He has 6 of them. (??)

BB at a rummage sale bought two BRIDGE books for 10¢ each.
BID BETTER, PLAY BETTER by Dorothy Hayden.
BRIDGE BIDDING by John Mallon.
