7 SUNDAY * OCTOBER 1973
SEVENTEENTH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST * 280TH DAY * 85 DAYS TO COME
Working on the SHAPE AND SHATTER puzzle. Recorded a
solution for orange yellow-orange and yellow-red without
corners of the two cards touching. For yellow-green could only
come up with one with a corner touching. No solution seems
possible for yellow-blue. Came up with a solution for
green-blue, then orange-red, orange-green, and orange-blue
(leaving red-green and red-blue still to be attempted.)
Other possible puzzles - place each color so that it is
connected together at corners but not at edges. Throw the
dice to set the colors of the corners.
As a game tried out some ideas that didn't work very well.
(cont. from 10/8) [10/10]
the royalties on them - even tho none were mine - and the
amounts look like they'll be appreciable.
Gave Felicia the model of OVER 'N OVER and showed her how it
worked.
Jack Barry (spelling?) came about 5:30. He looked at 3D BOXES.
He liked the general idea but not thought that the "force" was
difficult to see. He also thought that the pcs. should be of
at least two colors to take advantage of the potential. He
didn't like the name at all and said that he'd probably think of
one tomorrow. Felicia tried to push him by saying she wants to show
it to M.B. He quietly told her that she shouldn't say things like that.
He wants someone else to look at it and will come in a few weeks -
Felicia said she'd hold it. tried to get a more definite idea on the
timing so that I could get the differently colored pcs. ready, and
possibly some changes in the rules. Jack didn't seem to think it was too
important.
Felicia showed him a thing done by the fellow who did the
big electric GAME (which I saw there but don't know much about
it). This is called MINEFIELD.
