20 Thursday - September 1973
263rd day - 102 days to come
Called Felicia and told her that I'd bring her 3D BOXES Monday rather than Friday, since she prefers not to come in on Fridays and also the date with Stan Chess was called off.
Called Jack David and arranged to go there Monday about
5 to pick up MR. WHO and STAC-TAC-TOE.
He was contacted by DIVERSION Magazine and, among others,
they will probably use ACQUIRE and SLEUTH.
Rcd. [receive] a notice to renew PLAYTHINGS Subscription.
Call from Pierre Berloquin. The manufacturer (or rather
publisher) who is doing SIDOMINOS wants to eliminate
the dots (from 1 to 5) to make it look different from
Dominos. Pierre wanted to know if I'd object. No, in fact
I approve.
The man publisher would like to put of out Pierre's
LES TROIS DIMENSIONS, but wants Pierre to come up with more
games using the same cards. As a novelty, they are
thinking of using triangular cards (because of the 3 dimensions).
Pierre will now be doing a column on Mathematical Recreations
and reviews of games for LE MONDE. He is leaving
LA FIGARO where he only did reviews.
Pierre asked me to check on his S&T subscription. Also
on his request for a MOVES Subscription. I told him that
I'd check at Simulations about the subscriptions. Also
that I'd send him a package with all the back numbers
of MOVES - by boat. The last S&T he has is #35.
Also I'll send him PATTON and HOLIDAY.
Pierre will send me copies repros [reproductions] of the revue reviews in the
magazine REVUE DU JOUET, all of them since my '71 visit.
He will also send me repros of his newspaper columns.
Also the games TILT and ECOPLANY.
Pierre asked about Vittet's L'ANNEAU ENCHANTÉ DE TOM TIT. I
told him that Felicia is trying to but wasn't very hopeful.
Pierre says that Vittet is doing some interesting things
with his "30 dice."
Pierre rcd. the information on JOURNAL OF RECREATIONAL MATHEMATICS
and is quite pleased with their promptness.
Earl Perel called. He wanted me to set up a NYGA meeting. I said that I was very busy, and now he, Claude, and Wald all live in Brooklyn (and Earl said that Issy said it was convenient to him). Why not set up a date in one of their places and let me know. If I possibly can, I'll be there.
Going over the new HONORABLE RELATIONS rules. BB typed the rules incorporating my changes. Also a letter to Burt Huber.
