11 Tuesday - September 1973
245th day - 111 days to come
Call from Felicia. She was at home and wanted to call Bob
Gellman to cancel a date today. Couldn't find his phone
number. Gave it to her.
She rcd. [received] copies of PATTON & HOLIDAY and liked the way
they looked. She talked Rappaports into ordering them as a
personal favor. They say that there are just too many
games.
I told her that Ruth Shaller (I confirmed the spelling)
would probably be upset that our names weren't included.
Felicia said she wouldn't give a damn. Ruth has already
put in an order for copies of HOLIDAY to sell in Texas.
Rcd. a UPS package with two copies of PATTON. My and Bob
Champer's name are on the rules.

Stubman. Of course.
Ira Mothner, a freelance writer doing a piece on games for
COSMOPOLITAN interviewed me for about 2 hours. He was
interested in the recent history of the game industry, and asked
questions about the game companies. I told him that A.H. and 3M
had started things going something more than 10 years agos.
Ira seemed interested in my games. He looked at ACQUIRE and
SLEUTH in some detail. He took a list of all my games currently
on the market even tho I told him that the Stancraft 4 -
ODD OR EVEN, TEMPO, INTERPLAY, and TRANSFORMATION - hardly
sold anything. Told him about the story of PATTON and the empty
box and he said he "had to use that."
I told him that he could get copies of my games and more
info from Jack Davis. Gave him the address. He said he was going
to Mike Alber's and would pro tomorrow and would probably see
Jack Davis then.
I asked Ira how he had heard of me. He said that Mickie Mackary
told him that he had to see me. He also said that he had come
across my name in some trade publications. I asked him which
and he said he had looked thru his sources last night looking
for the spelling of my name, and hadn't found it. If he is
able to find the references (if there are any) he will call me. He
will also call to have me confirm any direct quotes.
He was interested in getting a copy of AGOG. Told him that Brentano's
had it probably. If not, give me a call.
