Saw <u>ADMIRALS</u> (Parker of Canada). It seems to be patterned <br>
on the game <u>BATTLE STATIONS!</u> by John E. Burleson, which <br>
is subtitled - The Game of "Admirals". This, however, allows a <br>
capture by short jump or a series of short jumps, as well  <br>
as the "confrontation" capture. A jump over a "mine" results in <br>
the loss of the jumping ship. If I remember correctly, the <br>
position of the "Admirals" is not kept secret. <br>

In Toronto "Natural History" Museum saw a mural, which I <br>
was told was a copy - with some dressing up - of one  <br>actually on Crete. It is titled "Palace of Minos, The Quuen's Apartment, <br>
Knossos Crete, 16th c. B.C." Among other things it shows <br>
2 boys playing <u>MANCALA</u>. The board is 12 holes set in a  <br>
circle. Only a small number of "stones" are shown.

While at S.P.I. showed <u>Al Zugier</u> (see 6/14) the board and  <br>
rules for <u>REAL ACTION BASEBALL GAME</u>. He made repros <br>
for himself. <br>
Made 10 repros of my column for #38. <br>
Call from <u>Claude</u> and we'll get together with <u>Earl</u> and <br>
<u>Issy</u> & Betty Friday night. <br>
I thought of the idea that if we want to get together to <br>
play games sometime in a central location we can use  <br>
the S.P.I. office on a Friday night. Claude thought it  <br>
was a good idea.
