8 THURSDAY - MARCH 1973
67TH DAY - 298 DAYS TO COME

Rcd. [received] a letter from Ralph Hasenbein, an AGOG reader, a prospective game inventor who wants advice on selling games.
Rcd. a letter from Yvonne Senturia, who got my name from John Houghnon (?) at 3M. She is involved in a research project on the sociology of adult board games and asked for any information I could give her. Mentions ACQUIRE, FOCUS, THE FEEL WHEEL, BODY TALK, SMOG, and DIRTY WATER.
Rcd. a letter from David E. Kribs. He will send a copy of his BEAT THE MARKET and a glossy as soon as it is ready.
Rcd. a letter from Frank Thibault. Nothing specific on games.
Rcd. THE GAMESLETTER (#51). Contained a mention that BLOOD AND IRON is the magazine that covers variants on DIPLOMACY type games.
Also note from Don that he rcd. TRIPPPLES, but didn't have the price.

Phil Orbanes here from 10 to about 4.
- Played INFINITY, including BB. Changed - and better than last time.
- Phil and I played all the REALM mini-games:- Ancient, Medieval, Oriental, & Modern. And then the Feature game.
He'll prepare the rules and send them to me early next week. I'll go over them and come there for lunch next Friday.
- Showed Phil the rules of WHAT'S IT WORTH TO YOU? and suggested the name COLLECTOR'S CHOICE. He liked it.
We discussed the setup at "Gamut of Games." There are problems that Phil hopes to improve.
Phil would like to add a few games to the $6 line and come
out with about half a dozen $4 games - COLLECTOR'S CHOICE among them. But he has to get Djoli's approval.
I will get 3¢ a game on REALM and they expect sales of about 15,000 this year. He offered to pay me for my time spent on INFINITY and, since REALM will pay a lot less than I was figuring on, I think I'll take it.
Phil brought the shopping bag full of small boxes that I had left in his apartment. Gave Phil the extra copy of TOYS Magazine.
I asked Phil who he thought would be a good idea to ask to work with me on developing PATTON. He suggested Bob Champer. Dale thought that Champer would be good.

Finished S&T column with a writeup on the book GUIDE TO SIMULATIONS/GAMES FOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING.
