Twenty-third Sunday after Trinity

Called Eugene Primoff and told him about finding discrepencies
in BEAT-THE-COMPUTER. He wasn't happy about my not
doing the review, but didn't argue. He said that he
would like to see the errors I found. Told him to call me
in a week or so and arrange to come over.

Called Arthur and told him that I'd be getting to see him in
a few weeks.

Called Jim Dunnigan. Next Friday will be O.K. for my
S & T column.
Told him TRIREME was not for my column and he agreed. I'll
get it back to him as soon as I can make a copy.
Talked ti Jim about CONCENSUS. I'm to write to them that
we are not taking any games from outside sources. I'll keep
the game they sent.

Looked at the rules for SUMMIT during day. There are a
few small changes from the 1961 edition. In evening played
with BB, Marylin, and Dave. It ends rather suddenly.

In looking thru the PLAYTHINGS 1971 Directory I found
an ad for OH HELL (pg. 194) put out by Twinson co.
Felicia gave me one of the HAGGLE sets Zena Gelman gave her. Felicia told me the project that she and Lilian Vogel were
thinking about doing. Lilian worked for Transogram for several years, on
children's games. In connection with this she set up a file of
shildren's games cross indexed by subject matter, such as "Cowboy
Games", etc. Her idea was to set up files for the last 10 years
and sell them to game companies for $5,000. One year of
updating free would be included and then a yearly charge would be made.

At first Felicia was enthusiastic but by now has second
thoughts. She asked my opinion and I pointed out that
Parker had their archives and never seemed to use them.
Another thing that bothered Felicia was that Lilian was
moving into family games and that opened up a whole new
and large field. She asked if I'd be interested in working on
the family end. I said possibly after I've caught up with my
backlog, but I didn't sound too enthusiastic.
Felicia showed me an article in the TIMES (11/13) about the
THE GODFATHER GAME. There is a lot of protest about over the
game, from the Italian-American league League and others, including
some congressmen. Some stores have been getting rid
of it because of the protests. Brentano's, however, reports
brisk sales.
