Called Phil Orbanes and he called me back, independently.
Bill Knox is not coming in today, but would like us
to send him HOLEY TERROR. He wants it bt next Friday
as he is going on a trip after then. I'll bring it to
Phil Wednesday and he'll send it, together with 2 of his
things, airmail - special delivery.

Played the HOLEY TERROR game with BB. It was O.K.

To Jack Davis. Took a copy of MR. PRESIDENT,
SPEED CIRCUIT, and a copy of SLEUTH they could spare,
the one Jack and Jan used to play themselves.
Forgot to bring MONEYSWORTH for Jack to copy.

Bought 2 packages of blades for the Xacto knife.

To skunk works. Took 2 copies of S & T #28. They didn't have
any loose copies of LOST BATTLES.
Asked Jim about the $5 per column, particularly to cover the
expense of answering a clock of letters. He reminded me that
I had agreed suggested taking my money amou payment in
games instead of money.
Played two games of ORIGINS OF WORLD WAR II. Played Russia
in first game and came in third (I think). Played
Great Britain in second and came in tied for first. The
U.S. has very little chance of winning with the "historical
scenario" but, I was told, can win with some of the "what
if" scenarios. (Al Nofi was one of the players in the game.)
Mentioned U-BOAT and one of the fellows told me that the
addition of the extra cardboard gadgets. I saw last time
didn't change the game, the rules still being the same.

During day called Mickey Mackay. The games, SUMMIT, etc.,
just came in today. She put aside a set for me. I'll
pick them up Monday after my stint at Brentano's.

Earl Perel called. He was thinking of making up an
insurance GAME. What started him on this was a
simple gadget that averaged a series of numbers.

I asked Jim Dunnigan if he had followed thru on asking
Tom Shaw to send a copy of ORIGINS OF WORLD WAR II to
Pierre Berloquin. He said it might be better if I did it. I
said I would.
Jim showed me an ad for S & T in BOOK WORLD.

Jack Davis mentioned that he rcd. a BOOK-OF-THE-MONTH-CLUB
mailing with games. THE NEXT PRESIDENT seemed somewhat
like MR. PRESIDENT. I told him I'd compare the two and
let him know.
