Arthur called. Someone he showed COUNTERBALANCE to several
years ago is still trying to sell it, using a picture
he had an artist draw up. Ned Strongen found out about
it from manufacturers he approached. He was angry with
Arthur till Arthur reminded him that he had told Ned that
he had at one time given the game to someone else for
a short time. Arthur thought the whole thing was funny.
Called Anne and she had Claude call me back. Checked on
our date for them to visit - Friday. Claude told me
of an ad he saw in the Sunday ''Times'' some weeks ago
for a series of word games called BRAIN DRAIN
for sale for $1.49 from
their X'Mas orders. She did suggest including a KALAH board.
Looked at LIBBERISH (© 1971 Harwell Assoc.) Another game where
one player draws an unusual word at random and reads it
off. Each of the other players then writes a phoney definition
for the word and pass them to the reader. The reader
then reads off all the definitions, including the correct
one given with the word. Scoring is as follows:
Picking the correct definition - 1 point.
Reader scores one point for each player who picks a phoney.
Composer of phoney definition scores 2 points for each player
choosing it.
Play until each player has two chances as reader.
