WEDNESDAY 13 OCTOBER 1971
286th day - 79 days to come
Rcd. Oct. TOYS. Nothing of particular interest.
Made another change in PROFIT, reducing the shares of
"Blue Chip" to a range of 1 to 6. Also reduced
starting cash to $2,500. Played with BB and it
played good.
Called Eve Auchincloss of BOOK WORLD. On vacation this
week and I left word for her to call me.
Call from Felicia. She read me the portions of Jim Krauss' letter
that pertained to me. Dated 9/29.
PLANES - His back is against the wall. Too expensive for
the Gamette line and Keith is not excited about it for
the Bookshelf.
WILD WOOD PILE - Cavity molds for the 16 pcs. would be
very expensive. Their engineers are investigating other methods.
PROFIT - Told her about his call to me of 9/17 and said
that I'd contact him when I get back from Europe.
Felicia rcd. a copy of IMAGE from Jim in their new
packaging. This is a tin box which Felicia thinks is very
attractive.
Before this she rcd. the components of IMAGE and of another
game BID & BLUFF, which didn't ring a bell with her. She asked
me to check with Jim about it when I spoke to him. She also
asked me to ask him to send a copy of IMAGE to the
inventor, who now lives in England. She'll send Jim the address.
Second call from Felicia. She wanted my opinion of Gameophiles
Ult. Something about submitting the action golf
GAME she spoke about previously to them, tho I didn't
quite get the connection. I told her that I believe they
are pretty small.
Called Jim Dunnigan. Told him about the flood of answers to
the SLEUTH problem. He agreed to giving two more prizes
to be awarded by chance to two of those submitting
the correct answer.
Told him about Pierre's interest in S & T. Jim will send Pierre
all the backnumbers and will send him a free year's subscription
(tho I said to bill him for the subscription). Jim
feels that Pierre will be useful in helping Jim to find
distributors of S & T and the TSGs in France, even
more than what he can accomplish by mentioning the
games in his writing.
Stephen Patrick (Associate Editor) is preparing an article on
yhe recent development of adult games. He is coming to N.Y. in
a week or so and Jim will bring him here, for supper
and to interview me.
They requested a copy of a game TRIREME and rcd, it. Jim
