THURSDAY 8 JULY 1971
189th day - 176 days to come
Sent check for $9 for a 3 -year renewal to TOYS.
To Reiss Associates for meeting with Phil Orbanes.
He introduced me to:
{Joel Gaines, President
{Gamut of Games, Inc.
{1133 Broadway, New York, N.Y., 10010
873-2227, 741-0808
Joel is the inventor and publisher of BRIDGETTE. He is
expanding with more games and so took a new name for
his company from my book AGOG.
The next gane he is putting out is a pencil & paper word
game he originally called ZIG-ZAG, but now has a new
name he wouldn't tell me because it wasn't protected yet.
He gave Phil some layout sheets for the game with,
I presume, the rules. Didn't show it to me.
If things go well they will be looking at games in the
fall to espand their line. Are particularly interested in
board games that can be packaged in a novel way.
Gave SPACE STIX to Phil. Discussed some of the facets of manufacturing
It will be much cheaper to silk screen
dots on the wood than drilling holes. And he thought that
stars might be a good idea - in keeping with the name.
He suggested my coming up with items for Mag-Nif who could
use as many asa dozen new ones. They sell for a low
price but sell 150,000 each a year or more. I have until
September to make next year's line. //Took NINE OF SWORDS solution.
To Felicia. Gave her a copy of my letter to Jim Kraus.
(See 7/4) for her files.
