Rcd. a box of games from Gamecraft: <u>TURN-TAC-TOE</u>, [crossed out]
<u>NIMBLE NUMBERS</u>, <u>TURN-A-WORD</u>, and <u>ROAMIN' NUMERALS</u>.
While I was out in the morning, <u>Frank Thibault</u> called. He'll
call again tonight at 11:00. Has some questions.
To <u>Bob Hallowell</u> in Mt. Kisco with BB. Showed him
<u>MANHATTAN MADNESS</u> and he liked it very much. The only
question is whether he can produce it to sell at $5,
which is the level he'd like to be at. He is thinking of
cardboard boxes glued to wood cores, the problem being tol-
erences. He talked with <u>Phil Orbanes</u> and he said
the <u>Bob Reiss</u> had really liked it.
They are still looking for a name for Phil's item, which
is a surface something like the one shown in cross section
on which up to five balls are whirled. Possibly
the balls may be made luminescent. <u>ORBIT</u> is now
out and Bob likes <u>ATOMSPHERE</u>. The <u>Reiss</u> crowd
will kick it around. One suggestion from there was
<u>VERTIGO</u> but I told <u>Bob Parker</u> just came out with this.
[sketch of two concave wedges facing one another] or was it [sketch of two convex wedges facing one another] Bob took BB, me, and his
secretary for lunch in a
nice Chinese restaurant.
When we returned I showed him <u>SPECTRUM</u>. He said
no doubt it was a good game but he couldn't package it
to be eye-catching. He thinks I should show it to 3M.
Asked about a copy of <u>NINE OF SWORDS</u>. Right now they are
just keeping up with orders, but he gave me one he had
there. He said he intended to give me a couple dozen. I
said that the contract called for 12. He said to forget
about that. | |||
In talking with Ann, she told me that <u>Claude</u> was sending
two sets of <u>GENIUS BLOCKS</u> to <u>Frank Armbruster</u> in the
next few days. Added this to my letter to Frank. [crossed out]
[crossed out] | |||
<u>Arthur</u> called. He'll be bringing <u>POWUR</u> to <u>Felicia</u> Tuesday.
He'll get copies of the rules tomorrow, including one
for me. | |||
When with <u>Bob Hallowell</u> he mentioned that <u>Gini Scott</u> scurries around
from manufacturer to manufacturer and tells everything that
she knows about the others. He also thinks that she turns out
games too fast, not really finishing them. I agreed that she
could really come up with some good ones if she would work longer
on them. | |||
<u>Frank Thibault</u> called again. He has been trying to sell <u>CONTIGO</u>
without success. He thinks there is something wrong with it but
can't put his finger on what it is. He asked if I'd be willing to
