FRIDAY   9   APRIL  | |||
Good Friday   1971   99th day - 266 days to come  | |||
----  | |||
Rcd. 2 sets of his rules for <u>EL TABLERO DE JESÚS</u> from <u>Pete | |||
Swift</u>.  | |||
Rcd. the <u>FOCUS</u> release which had been sent to <u>Felicia</u>. | |||
Signed it and sent it back to Western Printing. | |||
Rcd. a catalog sheet for <u>RACE FOR SPACE</u>. There is  | |||
a distributor in the Bronx and I'll call him. It is | |||
also handled by Gameophiles Unlimited. | |||
At the "Berdicks" looked at the <u>''TIMES''</u> magazine section. | |||
Had the following ad:- Crossword Puzzle Buffs, <u>SARK</u> is here. | |||
A game for everyone 8 to 80. The exciting and challenging cross- | |||
word puzzle card game that's sweeping the nation! Play it a- | |||
lone or with up to 6 players. Set your own pace while expanding | |||
your word power - thousands of letter combinations are possible! | |||
You'll have hours of fun as you score horizontally and vertically, | |||
spelling out words as you go. From the publishers of world-fam- | |||
ous Merit Line of Crossword Puzzle Magazines and the "Six Foot | |||
Puzzle." Introductory mail order price for the <u>SARK</u> game | |||
only $2.00, postpaid (regular price, $3.95). Send check or | |||
money order to dept. 5, Gilberton Co., 99 Fifth Ave., N.Y., | |||
N.Y., 10003. (From information got phone number - WA4-7040.)  | |||
Played 3-hand <u>PLANES</u> with BB and Dale. Each has one sym- | |||
bol and can only take a plane in which that is in the | |||
ascendent, except that the neutral symbol can be greater | |||
without having bearing. We played with each player simply | |||
scoring his planes. As an alternate scoring I may include | |||
a scoring where whenever a player scores the player to his | |||
right loses the same amount. This will make players play | |||
against the next one to play. | |||
It did play very well. The board tended to get quite full. | |||
Rcd. a very pleasant letter from <u>Don Greenwood</u> of  | |||
<u>PANZERFAUST</u>. He would like me to write for him when I | |||
get the opportunity, but not to hurry. They will be photo | |||
offset soon. He enjoys my column in <u>''S&T''</u>. He thinks that | |||
aside from the major game and my column the magazine is | |||
too historically oriented.  | |||
Rcd. a second letter from <u>Dr. Manuel Ma. Risueño</u>.  | |||
He was told that <u>TEMPO</u> was a good game but can't remember | |||
by whom. Now that he knows it is mine he'll buy it when he | |||
comes to the U.S. in October. | |||
He'd like the rules of <u>CAROUSEL</u>. They have a game  | |||
called <u>CAROUSEL</u> which is a stops game.  | |||
He also told me the rules of <u>COCKTAIL</u>, a trick taking | |||
game with 5 different hands.  | |||
[red line bracket to top of paragraph that starts with "Rcd. a very pleasant letter..."] | |||
This happened 4/10.  | |||
