MONDAY 1 FEBRUARY 1971
32nd day - 333 days to come
Rudy Lopez called. I told him that LIVE WIRE was sent
out to X. He has two games to show me which he
said are all worked out. But he still offered me half
of the royalties. I thanked him, but told him that I
would only accept a cut if I add something.
He'll call towards the end of next week and
arrange for me to come to his house to see the games.

less to different players. His arrangement with Hallowell
is to present ideas and then have them approved
before doing the final development.
Bob Reiss thinks that NINE OF SWORDS should sell at
least 35,000 this year. It will probably be his featured
sculptural item.
Phil told Bob Hallowell about MANHATTAN MADNESS. At first he
was hurt that we had given it to Carl Eisenberg first. But
Phil explained that Carl had intended to get it out this year
and was offering an advance.
Hallowell was is particularly interested in MANHATTAN MADNESS
because Bob Reiss had liked it so much. When I get it back
from Carl I'll take it up to Mt. Cisco.
Phil is looking for a job completely out of games
so that he can operate openly in Infinity-Quest.
Starting this year he has listed me as a vice-president.
Jim D. said that S & T circulation was now 1800 and
that they are either paying for or sharing ads with
several other specialized magazines to increase the circulation.

a water passage cards. Ships can attack capitals on the
shore, having a factor of 2, but cannot attack troops.
Ships can carry troops, but if sunk, in a fight between 2
ships, the troops are also lost. certain places, like Ireland,
England, Sardinia, Corsica, Sicily, an island of Greece (the
latter 4 being provinces), can only be reached by ship.
There are numerous rough edges, like keeping track on
which wars have been declared. The one about which country
a pc. originated in can be solved by considering him in the
service of the country he is in. The play of the cards seems to
overshadow play on the board. But there are a lot of
very interesting ideas in the game.
Jim probably will be renting a larger loft near 23rd St.
