Rcd. a letter from { Henry L. Pierson [address] New York, N.Y. 10006, HA5-2661

He bought AGOG which he enjoyed. He is a lawyer who has invented a GAME. He contacted Random House and spoke to Barbara Francis and got my address. He would like to get together and discuss how to go about marketing it. I told him I had some information that was confidential to my agent and probably couldn't be of too much help. He still set up a date for next Tuesday for lunch at the Mining Club.

Thinking of further ideas on PROFIT, particularly in the manner of making stocks unstable and stable.

Rcd. Vol. 1-#3 of R7 DISPATCH.

[drawing of two rows of four cards each, with space between second and third columns. Left two columns are labeled "side," right two columns are labeled "center."]

The player dealt to choses one card from the center layout. Then the other player, Etc. After each has 2 cards, the first player leads to a trick. The other player may play either of his cards. To win the trick he must play a higher card of the same hierarchy, or the matching card (K-V, etc.). House has no bearing. The winner of the trick picks first from the side layout. Etc, until 4 tricks have been played. The winner of the last trick scores. 1 for each trick if he won the last but not the one before, 2 for each trick if he won the last two, etc. The score is placed in a "column" and then 8 more cards are dealt from the remainder of the deck by the nondealer in the first round. If the same player scores in the 2nd round a third is dealt, and if again won by the same player a fourth and final round is played. As soon, however, as each player has scored in a "column" that "column" is completed and the entire deck is reshuffled to start a new "column." 4 columns are played. If a player scored once in a "column" that is his score for that "column." If he scored twice all his points in that "column" are doubled. Etc. They also showed me VEROQ, which is played with either 2, 3, or 4 houses. The cards are dealt equally and played in tricks similar to the last game, except that House counts. Scoring is similar to the last game except that the next to last trick is the critical one, the last card in each hand not being used. (Didn't get all the details, and they are still working on it.)
