Called Jules Cooper. He called back later.
He'll send a letter releasing CASE OF THE ELUSIVE ASSASSIN.
He'll send me copies of BEWILDER and the sports games, probably after the New Year. I told him about S&T.
I said I wanted to discuss the field of 3-D plastic games with him, particularly [illegible] with before AGOG comes out in paperback. He suggested some evening during Toy Fair, and then to go out for supper with our wives.
Charles Wibel of "GAME OF THE MONTH CLUB (N.J.)" met me at office and took me to lunch (I left tip). He is in insurance but the club is doing so well he will probably be doing it full time.
He is interested in advertising in S&T. I gave him a copy and will have Jim send a rate schedule.
He has a method of playing QUADS which makes it more of a challenge. I asked him to send it to me so I can include them in my review. Also I'll mention his club in the review.
He says that once he gets going he will produce his own games. He has some 7 of his own invention. He would also be interested in some of the old ones in my collection. (I was noncomittal on that.)
He asked if I could suggest small companies which have good games which might be used for the club. I said I'd keep my eyes keep that in mind. Suggested WHAT'S THAT ON MY HEAD? as an excellent game.
I asked him to let me know if he came across any out of the way games that he wasn't handling thru the club.
Felicia called. Told me about the contract meeting with Impact. Didn't get a lot much from her comments but probably the things I wanted were taken care of.
They want a sliding scale which (I think from the figures she gave me) resulted in a cut-off point at $14,000 total royalties. I wasn't happy with this and she said it didn't apply to the Enjay project. Also (she said) there isn't a cut off, but that I should look at the figures myself. I'll go there next Monday.
She has a game (later learned the name THE SIGNS ARE 12) based on astrology she wants me to look at.
To Jim Dunnigan's for supper. Edi and I tried to figure out LENSMAN but couldn't.
Played VECTOR with Edi, Larry, and Jim. Very good. Edi & I were particularly impressed.
Edi and I played QUADS. It was moderately interesting but before you get your teeth in it, it was over. Probably a larger field with larger quads (or rec would be more interesting.
Took an extra copy of the Dec. '69 INTERNATIONAL WARGAMER that Jim rcd., but without a loose insert that his copy
