Felicia called before & after [illegible scratched out] her telephone conversation with Jerry Dougherty. They are definitely interested in the Enjay mailing, tho[though] it might be as little as 3. She is asking them for 25% of the product cost of each game (the way she worked with other advertising agencies on promotional games). She said that we'd share it 15% for me and 10% for her, which is a 60-40 split instead of the usual 75-25. (Will have to discuss this when we get together tomorrow. [no closing parentheses]

Fabio called and read me his letter to Alex. He pretty much took the blame for the introduction. [illegible scratched out] Fabio wants me to rewrite it over the weekend, and to try and fill the same amount of space. I told him about the mention of the Russian aristocrat on the jacket. He said he'd see if a new printing of the jacket was in prospect. If not it wouldn't be too important.

At Murray's (store) met J.J. Zuccarini and his assistant, 3M salesmen. They said that the line is going well, except <u>PHLOUNDER</u> which is being dropped & [illegible scratched out] <u>JUMPIN</u>. The initial acceptance of the card games is good. <u>FOIL</u> is doing better in Bookshelf than in card and they think it is poor policy to have the two versions. I told them of <u>HIGH BID</u> going into the card line.

They told me of the following advertisements for the card line:– N.Y. Times book review; Nov.[November] 23 – <u>VENTURE</u>, Nov.[November] 30 – <u>MONAD</u>, Dec.[December] 7 – <u>TRYCE</u>, Dec.[December] Reader's Digest – <u>VENTURE</u>, Dec.[December] Psychology Today – <u>VENTURE</u>.

Claude called. He saw the guts of <u>COMPUTER FOOTBALL</u>, without the rules, in a thrift shop for $3.50. I told him not to get it. He saw a short mention of <u>AGOG</u>[A Gamut of Games] in a catholic periodical. I asked him to save it for me. I was supposed to call him in the evening but didn't get a chance till late and he had left for work. Spoke to Anne.

Met Brian & John Blake at Harvard Club. Brian told me about Harry Loraine's memory system which consists of making mental images to link objects (this is part of it). I had an idea for putting small size cards in spaces on a board each with objects printed on them. Players remember paths towards specific destinations (to be worked out) and then the cards are covered. Just a germ of a <u>GAME</u>.

Harry Lorayne has been asked for a game on his system. I said that I didn't want it to seem that the game was created by Lorayne. Brian said that he [illegible scribbled out] thinks that my name as creator would be an asset. I also said that I wanted royalties. Brian thought that would be O.K.

Brian will get a copy of Lorayne's text book to me.
