Dale wanted to go to Jim's bldg. after midnight to reproduce  <br>
a geology work book, but she couldn't get a  <br>
copy as originally planned. I called Jim to tell him we  <br>
weren't coming.  <br>
Jim rcd. my column and thought it was good. He thinks  <br>
he can just squeeze it on three pages.  <br>
He has some ideas for going about getting review copies  <br>
of books and games (a "fringe benefit" for me). I'll have  <br>
to follow up with him on this.  <br>
Asked him if he knew anything about getting a foundation  <br>
grant. He knows a girl who worked for the Ford Foundation.  <br>
He'll contact her (if I remind him after his work load has eased off).  <br>
Jim wants to send out an <u>S & T</u> brochure to the people  <br>
<s>BB called</s> who ordered the <u>FOCUS</u> booklet from me. He suggests  <br>
a flyer for my book be included with it. He thinks Random  <br>
House probably has some kind of catalog sheet or glossy they  <br>
send to publications. If I get a copy he can get it off-set  <br>
for me. I'll check with Barbara.
BB called Barbara about Miriam Fredericks (see 10/2). Barbara  <br>
seemed to think we were trying to get a free book for  <br>
Miriam. She said that they sent out loads of books  <br>
to publications and it is up to them to assign <s>the</s> a  <br>
reviewer to do a review if they want one. Also Miriam  <br>
doesn't have any particular qualifications to do a review.
When I spoke ti Jim I asked about the material from  <br>
<u>CONFRONTATION</u> (the new version) he took from me. He said he'd  <br>
reproduce it and got it back to me. It's important to keep the "archives" complete.
