WEDNESDAY 19 FEBRUARY
Ash Wednesday 1969 50th day - 315 days to come
Met Stan Harris at the Renwal showroom. Went over the Createk
games that were offered to them. I particularly praised
SPECULATION. Stan told me to take the rules for PENETRATION,
SPACE CHASE & SPLURGE. Also took home two games by the
widow in Florida who sent in STAR-K-RAZY. They are DO-MINI-NOS
and SKY-SPY. They aren't bad.
Stan said they are pricing SNAFU and trying to arrange things
with the inventor in Germany to start pricing EGG-HEADS. I men-
tioned that if they are using SNAFU they probably won't be in-
terested in TAM-BIT. He said that they certainly would. That
the former would be in an inexpensive children's line while mine
would be a more adult game. I said I'd work on the 3 and
4 hand version as soon as the book was finished.
In the office saw a copy of TOY AND HOBBY NEWS with an
ad for the International Toy Show. They mentioned games from
a number of companies in England.
Claude called. Oggi accepted three of his puzzles, one based on
the Queen Puzzle and two based on magic squares. He is working
on a puzzle using 4 double cubes. Object to put them together in a
2 x 2 x 2 cube with 4 different colors on each of the 6 faces.
Rcd. answers from Broman-Percepta, Study-Craft, Crisloid.
Stan said that Ceycee is giving Phil the works (not in those
words exactly; but that idea).
(cont. from 2/20) [2/26]
Faye called. Will go next Friday for meeting on her new
project.
BB and I played SPELLBINDER using the rule that 4 cards are
put into a pool each time a word is withdrawn. Didn't work
too well. Decided to eliminate major and minor colors in 2-hand
game and allow a player to withdraw a word using either
color as the predominate color.
Begun on 2/26.
