FRIDAY | FRIDAY 31 JANUARY 1969
| ||

Dave Goodzeit from the law firm on our floor called up
| |||
Lowe to find out who I could talk to about
| |||
information for the book. He was told the following man: -
| |||
{Lowe
| |||
{Larry Hansburg
| |||
{729-4000
| |||
Later I called him. He said to go to 5th Ave. for their
| |||
current catalog but that he couldn't tell me anything
| |||
about next year. | |||
Made another batch of repros of the book diagrams.
Felicia called. She had forgotten the name of the game Bryce
| |||
Russel showed us: ASTRO-BLITZ.
| |||
Arnold Shapiro, on the way to toy fair in Germany, called
| |||
her. He is sure X will go ahead with the games eventually,
| |||
but he can't say when. | |||
The catalog from Shackman came. Not much on games.
Called up Martin Gardner to tell him more about DUEL CHESS and
| |||
tell him he could use it if he wants to. He said he
| |||
probably would, either in the April edition as part of the
| |||
puzzles or in May with the answers.
| |||
After this I looked in NOUVEAUX JEUX D'ECHECS NON ORTHODOXES
| |||
and found LES ECHECS A L'UNIQUE ECHEC which was the
| |||
same as the game he isusing in his column. He appreciated
| |||
my telling him of it. | |||
On ''Johnny Carson'' program they had a game called
| |||
FUNNY BONES. There is a set of large cards, each one of
| |||
which has a statement, such as "The hand bone is
| |||
connected to the hip bone", "The head bone is connected to the
| |||
elbow bone", "The ankle bone is connected to the ankle
| |||
bone", etc. A mixed couple plays and as each card is
| |||
drawn (by another player) they attempt to hold the
| |||
card in place betweenthe two specified places. (The card
| |||
is placed there by another player.) Score, I guess, by
| |||
how many cards can be kept in place. |
