Friday 5 April 1968

96th day - 270 days to come

Called Jerry at his hotel. Asked for Lego's address. He didn't have it, but suggested looking in Toy Fair directory.
Found it:- Samsonite Corp. Toy Div.
1050 So. Broadway
Denver, Colo. 80217
(Mr. R. Reed)
Asked Jerry who to see at E.S.R. - Mel Meyer
Room 405, Fifth Ave. Bldg.

Later in day remembered that Scientific Games Division of KMS Industries had a puzzle called MENTAL BLOCKS. Have to write & tell Jerry.

Jim Dunnagan [Dunnigan] & Phil Orbanes here for supper. Jim re- turned my book A SURVEY OF HISTORICAL DEVELOPMES IN WAR GAMES. Phil brought me part of a new CONFRONTATION set.
It is almost definite that Renwal (with Allstate behind them) will be taking over Gamescience and the games VIET NAM, CONFRONTATION, and BATTLE OF BRITAIN. At least for the first year or so they will stay with simulation games so that they would not be interested in AIRLINE (which I showed them, but we did not play) and BIG FUNERAL, at least not for the present. Also DOUBLE THINK will have to represent a definite historical event rather than an abstract situation. They will work on it.
Jim & Phil will get a salary from Renwal and will also get royalties for the games they develope.
Phil said he would send me a copy of the rules for INVEST. Also a set of VIET NAM with the new rules for a short game.
