Called Fabio Coen to check whether next Monday would be soon e-
nough to bring him the outline on the book. It's O.K.

Called Dr. Atwater in Concord. Told him of meeting Rockwell @
Toy Fair. [crossout] Atwater said that he had been holding up on doing further
business with Stancraft until he received Alex's contract. He will
send me his comments on my games. I told him that I had the
models completed and he said he would have done it.
Someone sent him a game called NAPOLEON AND JOSEPHINE which he
thinks is like REVERSI with some slight changes. Asked me if I
would look at it and I said of course.

Rcd. the contract from Pantheon books. It calls for 5% on first 5,000 copies,
7 1/2% on next 2,500, and 10% after. There is a clause allowing them
to print a "Modern Library College Series" book at 2% royalty. The con-
tract also calls for me to provide the diagrams in form for re-
producing.

Martin Gardner sent me a letter he rcd. from A.S.M. Dickens from England.
Dickins sent him a book on Fair FAIRY CHESS which Martin
said had a good history of 3 and 4 dimensional Chess. Dickins is
offering copies to anyone interested. He also inquired about a
game WAGON WHEEL CHESS. Martin wrote to him that he was passing
on the question to me. I never heard of it.

Claude called. In a store he saw some old games, including
ZIG ZAGGLE. I told him that I had them already.

Thought of 2 variations for TEMP. 1) Play a "set" with 6 games winning
but must be two games ahead. Alternate playing first.
2) The first player switches a peg of his own with an opponent's, after
which the opponent starts the game.
