Visited Barney Rich. He has made up sets of DOZEN DIAMONDS on cubes using nos. from 1 to 12. Tried a few throws. It is much easier to get a slam. Told him of the idea of throwing the dice, leaving them for all to see & bidding for the right to play them.

Gave him copy of FOCUS. Played 2 games. He played very poorly.

Gave me folder advertising "MATHEMATICAL RECREATIONS AND ESSAYS" by Walte William Rouse Ball. Mentions 3 Nim variations:
