each other player gets one point.
Played <u>KNIGHTS AND VASSALS</u> (see 1/3). 4 players play as  <br>
partners. A game consists of 4 hands with each player <br>
dealing. The dealer's partners hand (the vassal) is <br>
placed up. The left hand opponent leads to the dummy. A <br>
lead must be followed in the same hierarchy (major or minor) <br>and a higher card must be played if possible - house has no <br>
bearing. If a player does not have a higher card in the  <br>
hierarchy he can throw off any card of the hierarchy and <br>
lacking the hierarchy throws any of the other hierarchy. <br>
The second player can cause a rebellion by playing the matching <br>
card in the other hierarchy. The new hierarchy is called for <br>
except that the next player can counter - rebel, etc. A rebellion <br>
cannot occur if two cards of the same hierarchy are played <br>
in succession. A player who has a permissible <s>rellion</s> <br>
rebellion card must play it if he doesn't have a card in <br>
the hierarchy that can head the trick. in other words, he must <br>
always head the <s>head</s> trick if possible. <br>
Each team scores 10 points for each card they take. "Prize <br>
cards" score in addition. A prize card is a card of the  <br>
other hierarchy than the winning card or one of the same  <br>
rank as the winning card. Only opponent's cards can be <br>
"prize cards". "Prize cards" are left face up as the tricks <br>
are taken. Each "prize" L or M counts 10, F or C -20,  <br>
P or S -30, K or V -40. If 2 of the same (such as 2 Vs) each <br>
counts double. Keep <s>track of th</s> a record of the "prizes" that <br>
a side has won as the hands go along and multiply the value <br>
by the number won. For example - a team wins the Vs in <br>
the first hand. In the second hand they get I-V as a prize. <br>
It is worth 3 x 40 or 120 points. High score at end of <s>hand</s> <br>
4 hands wins.
