Friday 11 December 1964
346th day - 20 days to come
To I/S. Played the new version of HIGH BID. It wasn't bad. Alice
won.
Played Q.E.D. used rules of 11/27 except that stopped the game
as soon as the 2nd pile is exhausted (leaving what is left
of the 3rd pile untaken).
Took home Nov. 1 issue of T&N. Nothing new.
Took home Nov. '64 issue of British Toys.
Had ad for: - Ariel Productions Ltd.
Gulf House | 2 Portman Street | London W.I.
Following games mentioned: - WEMBLEY, TAXI!, 200 QUEST,
KLONDIKE POKER, FRAME-UP.
Rcd. letter from Wesley Hosken. He included two variations
for "TOWERS" which I added to that game in
"Board Games" Folder.
He also suggested the use of special pcs. in
FOCUS. Each player has one pc. which when captured
loses the game for the player who loses it.
This might be quite interesting. The special (or king)
pc. [letter crossed out] could be placed at the option of each player.
Having it covered by opponent would not lose, only having
it captured. If it is sent into "reserve" it would
have to be played onto board on next move.
