Friday 11 September 1964 255th day - 111 days to come
NYGA meeting at the Amberstones'. Claude & me there.
Watched Amberstones play a game of LINES. The rule of 8/27/64 was clarified. A line to be safe must extend from one border to an opposite border.
Played POWUR. Discussed various rules for starting.
Played CHICKEN CHOW MEIN (Claudes'). Use a regular deck of cards and deal them out to players one at a time until all gone. Players in turn play one card face down in front of them, saying "Chicken". When they think that among the cards they have face down, including the one played at that turn, they can match at least two cards in each of the opponent's face down cards, they say "Chow Mein" which stops the play. Cards are turned up and checked to see if there are two matches with each opponent. If so the players takes in all cards. If he misses even one opponent he loses and must give a number of cards equal to those he has played to each opponent. (My suggestion - give them only to players he does not match.) Complete rules as to finishing the game have not been worked out yet.
At a store saw BURKE'S LAW (Transogram). Another detective game. Wasn't able to see the rules.
