Saw Mr. Rocknowski @ [at] Whitman. They will only give a flat payment for FOCUS (from $500 to $2000). They will, how- ever put my name on the rules & let me keep the rights to publish, etc. He also intimidated that they would do a similar game if I didn't agree. Spoke to Bernie Newman in the evening. He was indignant and is going to check whether they could do it. He will call me back next week. I have to answer Whitman within 10 days.

A clarification of the rules is that a pl in a turn a player plays first to market value or special and then a buy or sell. Reduce the permissible holding to 3 in a suit and 8 total. When selling only one card can be sold in a turn (why not allow more?)

Played one hand of BIG FUNERAL. Looked at Claude's rules and made some suggestions.

Wald gave me a set of GHANA rules to check over.
