TUESDAY 30 NOVEMBER 1965
St. Andrew, Apostle
334th day - 31 days to come
- Interviewed by John Mckelway of the Washington Star.
He will use me in his column either tomorrow or Wednesday.
- Taped a 5 minute segment for "Metropolitan Memo"
on WTTG-TV. Will be used sometime before X-Mas.
Didn't make a 12:15 P.M. appointment to be on "contact" on WAVA (The all-news station).
- Was on MILTON Q. FORD SHOW on WPIK. Was on for
about 10 minutes at abt. 2:15.
Was supposed to be Herald-Tribune office for a game wrap-up. Man was out so he will call me in New York.
At Garfinkle's saw WHIRLING DERBY (Repogle Globe)
A race game played on a globe of the world. Various
countries and islands are colored in 5 different colors.
There is a spinner which gives at one end an amount
of pts flying time, from 1 to (abt.) 5 hours. This
end also gives a color. The other end either tells player
to take a "fuel" card or a "chance" card. There is
a scale for measuring hours of flight. There are
also cards giving different locations. Four of
these are dealt to each player and he must start
from a city in U.S., visit the 4 cities, and then
return.
A player can only land in an area of same color as spun. May fly less than number of hours spun. Give up one "fuel" card for each hour flown. There is also money in the game and 1 unit of fuel costs $100. "Chance" cards win or, less often, lose money. Players may borrow fuel must pay it back before returning home.
Rcd. card from Warren Buell.
George Simor of Press Features International (27¢ Madison Ave - Room 1205 - LE 2-1720) called. He represents papers in Europe, mainly Germany and Switzerland. Gave him addresses of "sick" games mentioned in Post article. Said he might do a feature on me in future.
Mr. Arnstaed of Stockholm Express here. Interviewed me and took pictures of ACQUIRE, FOCUS, and NUCLEAR WAR. BB & I afraid he'll use the latter in an unflattering article. (cont. on 11/29)
