Thursday 8 July 1965
189th day - 176 days to come
Spent evening with Bob Abbott at Laura's apartment.
Played PUSH-PULL and had the same problem as
last night. Didn't build up interest.
Played illegible CHAIN REACTION and it too dragged as
players ran off goal after goal but this didn't work
too well.
Played several games of CROSSINGS (previously BLITZ.
Very interesting.
Played around with a GAME IDEA which would
utilize the fact that a checker has two different sides.
Also played with a mancala type GAME IDEA. Checkers
of two colors for two players. Placed one-high on board.
Move in any direction, including diagonal, by sowing. When
piles are formed, player whose color is on top can sow
them. The bottom piece sowed first etc. Capture any
pile in the final reached space. Didn't develope into
much.
