who had worked as a game designer for Transogram.
Claude showed a new game tentatively called FOOTPRINTS.
A new board is drawn for each game something like
shown below -
[DIAGRAM OF A CONNECTED GROUP OF LINE SEGMENTS. THERE ARE A LARGE AMOUNT OF INTERSECTIONS WITH TWO OR MORE LINES CONVERGING. ALL OF THE LINES ARE STRAIGHT - NONE HAVE CURVES. AT THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE DIAGRAM (OUTSIDE THE LINES) THERE IS A LETTER 'M']
Two play and each uses a different colored pencil. Choose
for first and first player places a dot of his
color at any intersection (including those of only 2 lines
if he wishes). Then the second player places a dot. Then
the first player draws along a line from a dot to an adjacent
intersection. Similarly with 2nd player. Then first player
can draw a new line from either end of his first line.
Etc. The only limitation is that the same line cannot
be traversed more than once. When one player can make
no further moves the other can continues making as many
additional lines as he can, counting one point for each.
(I think it would be preferable to score 10 points for the
1st line and 1 point for each there after.)
The game was popular and I won all those I played.
