SATURDAY 8 MAY
1965 128th day - 237 days to come
Called Alice and gave her two ideas I had for HATRACK GAME
(see 5/4). First game - using just the cards and hat discs.
Mix them up and place a disc in each hat card, making sure
that none goes in correct space card. Players in turn
switch two hats trying to get 1 or both into proper card.
Keep all correctly matched cards for scoring (1 point each)
at end.
2nd game - Each player takes one hatrack card (if less
than 4 are playing all hatrack cards are used but each
player owns just one. Shuffle the cards and divide
them equally between the players. These are placed face
up in front of the players. The hat discs are mixed
and then placed face up, 5 on each hatrack card, and
4 on the center card (leaving one color uncovered). Players
try to bring the hats to match their cards to their hatracks.
Discs are moved by switching a disc on the center card
with any one of the hatrack cards, the two discs being
on the same color. Didn't work out the mechanics of
removing discs from hatracks to cards. A move of a card
disc to an empty space (from a hatrack to center, or
visa versa - and both spaces being the same color) is consid-
ered equivalent to a [crossed out] switch.
Got together material for Claude to send Journal
American reporter for use in article in Queen Sunday
section. Gave it to Claude in evening.
Bought 4 checker boards on Northern Blvd. Claude left
12 copies of BIG FUNERAL on consignment.
