FRIDAY 12 MARCH Ember Day 1965 71st day - 224 days to come

To Toy Fair. Saw following:- THE ROGUES (Cardinal)- Board game with paths. Pick up loot along the way. Both the playing pcs. and the loot are discs. The playing pcs. are moved with a stick and the loot must be pushed in front. If moves out of path, lose it. (Rough idea.)

JUMPIN (3M) - No rules there but looked like a two handed Chinese Checkers type game played with metal pcs. on a peg board about 8 x 16 spaces. STOCKS AND BONDS (3M) - Stock market game. Each player has information cards which lists the expected performance of some ten different stocks. All stocks start @ 100. Movement is by throw of two dice. There is a slide rule which is get to the sum and movement for all stocks is shown. Some stocks give dividends, others will probably appreciate quickly. When stocks reach 150 there is a 2 for 1 split. When they go below 50, they do not give dividends. When they reach zero the company is bankrupt. All lose their stocks and it starts again @ 100. There is a brokers fee for each transaction. There are stock certificates but record of money is kept on a yard - which seems like a lot of work. QUINTO (3M) Played in a quadrille board with tiles numbered from 1 to 9. Play is Scrabble style. Lines must always ad dto multiples of 5. Score total of each line made or extended in move. The sales people I spoke to liked ACQUIRE.

PERPLEXION (Jerry Lucas Pass-Time Games) 4 handed checkers - chess variation. Was generously given a copy. This company also has JERRY LUCAS BASKETBALL GAME:- Attractive board but only a series of spinners. Which direct you from one to another, starting with one in the center and ending when a score is made. They would like to see some of my games.

At Standard Toycraft got their catalog. Have MR. MAGOO GAME - simple path game at which I didn't look. DICK VAN DYKE - Outside path, move with die, get pictures of house parts and people which are put in spaces on the board. First to complete his is the winner. (Filed in Ad Clips - 65).

Kohner Bros. No new games. Would like to see my games. They are expanding, having taken over the Tryne line. Mentioned Claude's game and they suggested going to their main office. Will tell Claude.

KALAH (Kalah Games) Spoke to son of founder. He gave me their official rules for the game and reprint of an article from the Arithmetic Teacher. (Filed in Board Game Folder.)
