TUESDAY 23 FEBRUARY 1965 54th day - 311 days to come

Called Mr. Aurik at First National Bank and told him of CITIBANK and HI-FI. He was interested - but not disturbed. He told me that FUN 'N' SUN (for the Grace Lines) plays just about the same way.

Thinking of ideas for Bob's GAME IDEA (see 2/22). 4 pieces in a pile gives it maximum power and no matter how many more pcs. a pile has it can be taken by one that is 4 high. As sets of 4 are accumu- lated they can be eliminated leaving 4. Instead of dealing the cards in one row they can be placed in 4 piles, top card available and others visible. A player misses his turn if his suit is not on top when it is his turn to play. If two or more of his suit on top he can choose one. Using the 4 piles, they can be given number from 1 to 4. The pc. moves just the number of spaces as the pile the card is taken from. A pc. could be allowed to move diagonally if on same color as king is on or orthagonally is on different color (this would tend to put pcs. onto diagonals.) The king could have arrows on it - see illustra- tion and pcs. could only move in the direction of the arrow. After moving the king can be turned.
