The fellows at the office played a PINOCHLE variant that I hadn't seen.
3 play - 16 cards are dealt to each (the complete deck). Bidding starts with 25. If no one bids the dealer gets bid for 18. High bidder, or dealer, sets trump. All players score for their melds and their points taken in play (with one ex- ception mentioned later). If high bidder does not equal his bid he goes down the ammount of his bid, others score (individual scores are kept for each player). If the dealer decides not to play he goes down 18 but others score noth- ing.

Rcd. letter from Warren Buell. He has played ACQUIRE and likes the new rules. Sent a clipping about Parker Brothers. Another about the book GAMES PEOPLE PLAY by Eric Berne. These are not games in my sense but social relationships. Sent copy of the magazine ad in which he & his daughter appeared.
