Played part of a game of L.O.A. with BB. Used a full checkerboard. Each player in turn places a line of 4 pcs. in a turn, starting with 1,2,3,4. The line can be orthogonal or diagonal. No two lines of a player's may touch - even diagonally. They may touch an opponent's line or lines. If a player cannot find proper space for his last line he puts as many as he can down and his opponent gets the unplaced 1 or more (from 16 down) as a capture. After the pcs. are placed moves are made according to the rules of 12/31/64 except that multiple captures by the same pc. are allowable. Eliminate the "Torus" feature. Win by capturing 6 of opponent's pcs. in numerical sequence. When threaten a pc. (or pcs.) that would win the game, must warn the opponent.
GAME IDEA. Thinking of using the same equipment for a similar
type game. Each piece can move the number of spaces of each factor
in the number. Thus all pieces can move 1 space and the 12 is the
most versatile with a move of 1, 2, 3, 4 or 6. When the 12 is captured
it can be traded for by giving the 11 and putting the 12 back where it, was
the 11, was. After the 11 is captured, the 13 can be so traded.
Pcs. can jump over a lower number whether friendly or enemy,
but not the same or a higher number. Another possible would
be allow jumping over friendly but not enemy pcs, as in Claude's
game. However only a lower numbered pc. can be captured,
except that a pc. jumped over a friendly pc. can then cap-
ture a higher numbered pc.
