BB checked over the patent application and I returned it to Miller with a note. // Sent check for her share of I'LL TAKE THAT advance to Felicia.
Started working on a game - tentative name TWISTS 'N' TURNS - that started percolating on 8/15 in my conversation with Felicia - her telling me about her meeting with Stan Harfenist. Made 6 pcs. [pieces] out of a total of 48 I will work with.
Call from Joe Pascal. He asked if I had written a review of
DEFEND YOUR CAPITAL yet. Told him that I had looked at it quickly
and might have some questions, but would have to look at it more
carefully before I was sure. Told him I'd probably get a chance to
play it by Labor Day. He'd like to see any review I do before I
use it.
A long article in THE PATENT TRADER was devoted completely to
DEFEND YOUR CAPITAL. He told them about me and they may contact
me about doing an article on me. He is sending me a repro [reproduction]
of the article on his game.
He mentioned seeing an ad for CODE NAME: SECTOR in yesterday's TIMES.
(I am pretty sure it was this, tho he didn't remember the name.
I gave him info on GAMES Mag. [magazine] and SIMULATION/GAMING
and Bernie DeKoven.
He said that he had checked and what he told me on 8/10 about donating my
collection was correct.
Started a final board for CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY. After inking the lines discovered that I had made a mistake and had to start over.
Helene & Art Bernstein here in evening (bringing chocolate chip
cookies). They looked at my collection, but Art decided that he
didn't want to learn PATTON & MACARTHUR. After listening a
little to the record we played a little TOTALLY. They liked it.
Art brought a copy of the rules to WEEKEND IN VEGAS and asked me to change
them so that the actual amount of each color chip is not given.
He wants to supply chips by weight (from a mixture?) instead of
by counting each color. In a few weeks is O.K.
In connection with their new capacity for printing any kind of
dice cubes, he has been thinking of putting out some original
