August 1977 - Friday 5
217th day - 148 days to come

Call from Felicia. The architect came with his wife and son to play his QUIBBLE. Felicia like him them but not him. The eqpt. equipment for the game consists of 10 "sticks" with letters - probably 11 - printed along the 4 faces. These are randomly placed into a rectangle. Then two dice are thrown to indicate a line of letters across the 10 sticks. Each player writes these ten letters and then tries to form words from them against a timer. A word that a player has alone scores 10 points; 2 with a word get 5 each; 1 point if 3 or more have the word. There is a special score a word of 6 or more letters, which she didn't remembeb remember. There was a "Guts" version for 2 where each in turn makes a new word; last to make a word wings. There was a "Solitaire" version which she said was hard to describe and difficult to play.
She decided that it wasn't good enough to M.B. [Milton Bradley] to town for. And we both agreed it would be expensive. She told him to contact her before "Toy Fair" next year - if he wanted to.
She'd like to see BOGGLE and I promised to bring it next time I come. In connection with Angelo Longo not wanting to see word games, I mentioned Ronnie's opinion of THE CATTLEMEN. She also hears that it stinks.

Sent TOYS Reader Service Card for THE MID-EAST GAME (see 7/27).
