Later he found cards in my card file (how did he happen to look in there?) for
TRADE (C.S.) and my variation TRADE-WITH KILLINGS (my variation). He said that
the idea he is working on has a lot of similarities - except that there is a
gadget that sets the price of the objects. We later got repros [reproductions] of the two cards so
that he could steer clear of the ideas.
Artic Albert (who is a V,P. but still works under Jules, who is a senior V.P.)
is now the one who looks at all games from outside. Also he would like an
EARTHQUAKE game. There should be uncertainty about when it will happen
and what the effect will be. Jules is not crazy about the idea. Also in order
to be considered for '79 [1979] it will have to be ready by the end of April.
Jules is crazy about a dice game, STRUGGLE, which has a big screw-u factor.
There are 2 dice - one with 1-3-5 in black and 2-4-6 in red, the other
visa-versa. There is a track with about 60 spaces, and up to 5 can play.
Each time a player throws the dice, he announces what he is trying for:
"Advance" - if both dice come out some color, move forward the total; if not stay.
"Advance Red" or "Advance Black" - more forward for any of that color showing.
"Set Back," "Set Back Red," or "Set Back Black" - similar, but move back an opponent.
"Split" - If difference color, move forward with one and opponent back with other.
"Double Split" - If any double, move self forward 15 and opponent back 15.
Object to reach end first. There is a "barrier" about 10 spaces from end
and once a player passes this he can't be sent back passed it again.
Phil thinks it is good for 2 or 3 plays, but then you hate it.
He noticed TAM-BIT on the shelf. He thinks it will make a good two
hand game with dice and he hope that Jules will prefer it to
STRUGGLE (which, I believe, he said was done by the Two Game Girls).
Told me to make up a wood board with plastic cylenders [cylinders] for the
pcs. [pieces] Should be ready by the 3rd week in April. I come up with the
name WIN IT YOUR WAY and he liked it. In connection with 2 -
