From Howie Barasch's assistant- Peggy- got the copy of ADVICE. Prices are
included on one sheet.
Made repros [reproductions] of my column in #61; the BAZAAR (SIT DOWN AND THINK)
contract; rules for GLADIATOR and COLOR ENCOUNTER.
Picked up a letter from Alister Wm. Macintyre. Ad for RAINBOW GAME
[illegible] Associates. Article on ACCESS, with a mention of DECISIONS
Told me about being paid for testing games (he and others in his club):
SAAJA, NUMBA-RINGS, CRISS-CROSS, QUICKY, IMAGIC.
Also sent a questionnaire on games to use at a tournament with the following
suggestions: THE BROTHERHOOD, CHECKERS, KRIEGSPIEL, CHIRP, DZIEJMA,
EXTINCTION, GAMBIT, GO, GO-MOKU, INFINITY, MASTERMIND, ORION, PLOY,
RACE TRACK, RISK, SCORE FOUR, SALVO, SCRABBLE, THE GREAT DOWNHILL SKI GAME,
SMESS, SMOG, STRATEGO, STRATO TAC-TICS, TWIXT, VECTOR, WATERWORKS,
WFF 'N PROOF. For prizes he suggested AGOG or subscription to G&P.
To Felicia. She told me of read me her letter to Tom Shaw in which she
casually mentions that under the terms of the BAZAAR contract
it is now ours - very well put. I gave her the duplicate of the
contract and the original GLADIATOR and COLOR ENCOUNTER rules.
She had a Mego contract catalog and there was a game OBSESSION in
it. It appeared to be the old game of having a line of 10 - or
it might have been 12 - spaces numbered fom from 1 up. Two
dice are thrown and two spaces corresponding to the dice are
covered, or one space corresponding to the total. But it seemed to be
set up for two to play at one time. She also had a Pressman
catalog. Two new games are listed: DECIPHER, which looks like a
German game; THE CLEVELAND WRECKING COMPANY, something about
knocking down a structure.
Alan Newman joined us.
