She called Jules Cooper and asked him about it. He seemed pleased
to hear from her and <s>seem</s> remembered her - altho she doesn't
remember meeting him. He promised to send her a catalog sheet of
the game, but it didn't come. She called back and he was out of
town. She asked if I had my old Ideal catalogs. No, but I
might be able to find it in old Toy Fair editions of the
trade magazines. Looked later and found that Ideal didn't have
ads in the March editions around '69 - which she thinks is
about the year. I also looked at directory editions from '61 on
and couldn't find BANG BOX listed.
Bill Dohrmann (who is now V.P. in charge of acquisitions) and
Andrea Donahue (who is now the head of the dept.) were in
to look at games. They liked MASTER SPY, WILD WILD WEST!,
and DON'T <s>BURST</s> POP MY BALLOON but they are not seriously begin-
ning to look until Feb. Felicia didn't let them take anything
with them. In Feb. either they'll come again or and Alan
will drive the two of them to Salem.
They didn't like STARSHIP EXPLORER.
Dick Harris, in his visit, took CIRCUS. He also liked OSMOSIS,
and Felicia separated it from the rest of the group (how?
since it is part of B-O-C-Q). Dick will give it to Mel Taft as
a present. Mel is in charge of the M.B. European Subsidiaries
and perhaps the game will be used there.
Dick (I am pretty sure she said that Dick said this) said
that Parker is coming out in '76 with a space game. This and
all their other games <s>with</s> will be gimmiky - no conventional
board games. Dick will wait to see how P. does with a space
game before thinking of doing one. Incidentally, he didn't
like STARSHIP EXPLORER.
Felicia said she'd talk to Aladdin about RED LETTER. I told
her about Ed Schifman wanting to see FOUR ARMED BANDIT.
She'll try to set up a demonstration meeting.
I told her I had the Aladdin ad from G&P. I'll drop
if off tomorrow.
