<br>Veterans' Day - 300th day - 65 days to come | |||
---- | |||
Looked at quite a few books looking for games for <u>THE GAME CUBE</u>. | |||
To <u>Bob Gellman</u>'s. <u>Mike Kohner</u> (who once was with Kohner | |||
Bros. before they were taken over) is some kind of consultant | |||
to R.G.I. and sat in on the conference. Discussed and came up | |||
with 30 games as the target. Mike asked my price and I said $15 | |||
an hour, and I wouldn't charge for more than 40 hours, even if | |||
it takes longer. Then when I spoke to Bob he said that he only | |||
had $500 budgetted [sic]; I agreed to a flat $500 without keep- | |||
ing tack of the hours. We agreed that I would have all the rules | |||
typed and the necessary diagrams. | |||
<br>They gave me repros of the rules for the present <u>GAME CUBE</u>. | |||
Not too good. Also a <u>CHECKERS</u> set from M.B. with some rules in | |||
the top of the box. Also <u>BACKGAMMON</u> rules from another Itemation | |||
set. A <u>CHESS</u> set is being added to the equipment. | |||
<br>Bob gave me a check for $300 as an advance on 1915 royalties for | |||
<u>PATTON</u>, <u>MACARTHUR</u>, and <u>HOLIDAY</u>. He said that the rest will be | |||
from $1,200 to $1,500. | |||
<br>In the book store on 23rd St. saw a bought a book with | |||
"programmed" instructions for <u>CHESS</u>. Lots of diagrams which | |||
I will be able to use. (94¢ plus tax). | |||
<br>To S.P.I. Had a very pleasant talk with <u>Jim Dunnigan</u> - both social | |||
and business - his and mine. | |||
<br>Checked again with <u>Redmund</u>, and all of my review will be | |||
in no. 53. | |||
<br>Speaking to <u>Richard Berg</u> and <u>Howie Barasch</u>. Howie had a game | |||
in his office <u>THE WAR AT SEA</u> (Jedko) which had the rules | |||
missing. Richard, however, had a set of the rules. Made repros | |||
of the rules, the board, and the markers. Later Howie said | |||
that I could have the set that was in his office. Took it. | |||
Took a copy of <u>THE FAST CARRIERS</u> (boxed) and another (unboxed). | |||
Took two copies each of <u>S&T</u> no 23 (without game, which is discontinued), | |||
no. 50, and no. 51. | |||
<br>Made 10 repros each of <u>WORD RACE</u> and another <s>board game</s> word <u>GAME</u>. | |||
<br>Played <u>500 RUMMY</u> with dad & Ilka. At their apt. got two calls | |||
from <u>Bob Gellman</u>. One was whether I thought it was nec- | |||
essary to include a doubling cube for <u>BACKGAMMON</u> - which would | |||
cost him 6¢. Told him it really isn't req'd. for children. Can't | |||
remember the 2nd call. |
