Rcd. <u>NOST</u> membership card 'til Sept. 1976.
<br>Call from <u>Mike Abrams</u>. I told him that due to sickness his
letter concerning <u>BINARY</u> (formally <u>BLOCK 'N SCORE</u> had gotten
mislayed. Also told him that the chances of 3M doing anything
new at present are very slim. He still wanted me to con-
tact <u>Keith Tuggle</u> concerning the game. I said that I would
send Mike my <u>S&T</u> review and that he could send it to
Keith and that he could suggest to Keith that I would be
glad to talk to him about the game. Mike said that Keith
"valued my opinion." | |||
<br>I suggested that the educational division of Milton Bradley
might be a place for the game.
Mailed the review to Mike - with a note.

Working on the word <u>GAME</u> idea I had last night. Have a
grid of 18 x 15 squares (270 total) with letters in them. A
section is blocked off - from 20 to 45 - and players in
turn pick out letters to form a word and color in the
letters with their color. The player who forms the last word
scores one point for each letter he has colored in. Con-
tinue with another section of the same size. Etc.
<br>Brought copies of <u>S&T</u> no. 48 thru 52 to <u>Harold Saperstein</u>.
Got the page from last weeks <u>TIMES</u> with <u>BEYOND TIC TAC TOE</u> ad.

Realized that next Friday is <s>Hollywood</s> Halloween. Called <u>Claude</u>
and changed date from their house to here. Told him I had
<u>DUEL</u> to return to him. Reminded him to bring <u>THE EXECUTIVE STRATEGIST</u>.
Called <u>EARL</u> and it's O.K. with him to come here Friday.

one game. The difference from the Kontrell version is that the
pcs. had the player's color on one side and were neutral on the
other. Each player made 10 moves on a turn (or luck version, the
number on two dice). If an enemy piece is surrounded on 4 sides
it is turned over to the neutral side. (What happens when 3 or
4 play?) A piece that a player has brought into <s>its</s> position a-
cross the board can be brought out again to help in a capture.
(can captures be made along an edge of the board?) Win by getting
6 pieces across, or by reducing opponent to less than 6 pieces.
Kontrell obviously eliminated the pieces of two different colors for
economy, but they could have molded a cross on one side to indicate
a captured piece. He said he'd send me his rules - also offered
to send me extra neutral pieces to play his rules. I thanked
him but said that I'd mark one side of the pcs. I have.
<br>He gave me his address: <u>Vincent Grissino</u> [address]
