October 1975 - Saturday 4 | |||
<br>St. Francis of Assisi - 277th day - 88 days to come | |||
---- | |||
While my father kept me company, I started a "Master file" | |||
of 2 1/2" x 3" cards. Shelf 10 was the starting point, then | |||
went to 11. 12 will be next, etc. | |||
<br>Thought of another <u>GAME</u> for <u>WORDS FOR THE WISE</u>. | |||
A series of vertical groups for placing words. | |||
<br>[drawing of squares arranged in uneven vertical columns] | |||
<br>Players in turn write a word in a group, | |||
either before or after the previously filled in | |||
groups. Score for words formed horizontally. | |||
<br><u>SUPERGHOSTS</u> certainly will be suitable, and | |||
possibly <u>WORDS TIME THREE</u>. | |||
---- | |||
(cont. from 10/7) [10/7] | |||
---- | |||
one else can do the actual writing. | |||
<br>Later I thought that my "Tootan-Ligan-Eithan" puzzle | |||
would be appropriate. | |||
<br>Noticed that he had copies of <u>JOTTO</u>, both the original and | |||
the S&R version. Made repros of the rules for the former, | |||
the latter were in the inside of the box cover. | |||
<br>Also made repros of rules for <u>MILTAC</u> and <u>TACTICS</u> - | |||
put out together by P. - 1916. Also repro of part of the cards. | |||
Took 5 copies of <u>THE 6 PACK - - -</u>. | |||
<br>Got my collection of the "Rand" war games up to date. Phil gave | |||
me a small folder set of <u>NAPOLEON'S LAST CAMPAIGNS</u>. Added the | |||
missing chart sheet to my original copy and also found a | |||
"Rules Modifications" sheet which I added to the original. | |||
<br>Took a new set of counters for <u>ROMMEL: THE WAR FOR NORTH AFRICA</u>. | |||
<br>Took the box for holding "Vol II of Command Series Games." Also | |||
took the missing tile from <u>HITLER'S LAST GAMBLE! ---</u>, but the | |||
duplicate copy is still not complete. There is a missing "Re- | |||
inforcement schedule." | |||
<br>To S.P.I. All the brass in a conference with <u>Chris Wagner</u>. Left | |||
my <u>S&T</u> no. 53 column with an assistant. Signaled to <u>Howie Barasch</u> | |||
to see if he had anything for me. No. | |||
<br>Spoke to <u>Richard Berg</u>. A lot of his material for no. 52 was also | |||
dropped. He said that a lot of new games came out for the | |||
"Origins I" conference in Baltimore but nothing much of inter- | |||
est since then. He has knocked the last three "Rand" games | |||
in <u>MOVES</u> - particularly <u>WAR OF THE WORLDS II</u> and wonders if they'll | |||
send him any more games for review. | |||
<br>While I was out there was a call from someone, who said | |||
he'd call again. Later discovered it was <u>Moses Goldman</u>. | |||
<br>Call from <u>Jerry D'Arcey</u>. When he came east, after calling me last, | |||
he just went to M.B. and P. - not coming to New York at all. | |||
<br>At M.B. he took back <u>SWEEP</u> (when did he take it from Lakeside?) | |||
since they were sitting on it, and it wouldn't be for '76 - even | |||
