Wrote to Warren Buell telling him we'll try to hold 10/1, 10/2,
and 10/3 open for his convenience.
Rcd. "Edmund Scientific Co." catalog 761. Nothing new in
games.
Rcd. 1976 "Childcraft" catalog. Lists the following games
and puzzles: SPARE-TIME-BOWLING, PERFECTION, QUIBIC,
TENNIS, ANYONE?, SYNTACTICS, PACHINKO, KEEP QUIET, KLIK;
THINK A DOT; JABBLE, CORNERED, THOUGHTWAVE, CHA-CHA-CHA,
INSTANT INDECISION, MASATER MIND, CONCENTRICITY, A-MAZE-ING,
TURNABOUT.
Call from Felicia. She read me a letter from Elizabeth Brower
concerning "Let's Play a New Game" which she loves. And
about BEYOND TIC TAC TOE, which she liked enough to take home
with her (which Felicia says she rarely does). She had two
criticisms. If VASARELY had been put last instead of first, all
of the other games would be on two facing pages. Also the
diagram in VASARELY wasn't consistant [sic] with play in only that
cube. She'll probably review the book, mentioning these faults.
In her letter she asks if I'd be willing to answer letters on
my article. Yes, if a SSAE is enclosed. Felicia thought that was
a good idea.
There was some reference to the "Girl Scout Leader" and we
weren't sure whether <s>there</s> the article would also be run there
or whether there would be a reference to it.
She thanked Felicia for getting two such fine articles (the
one on herbs) for minimal payment. (It is $50 and Felicia
asked and I said sure, we would split it $25 - $25, like
Eileen did.)
She had a long meeting with Shep Bentley and basically he is op-
tomistic about the game program. He thinks that TOTALLY will
do very well. They admitted that INTERSECTION was their fault
(which doesn't help us much). They are sorry that they don't
have TV ready for PUSHOVER (??) Felicia said that she never
cared for it. As far as she knows, they haven't made any
foreign editions of BALI, but they are sending the U.S. edition
overseas in answer to orders.
She learned that our next royalty report will be in December.
I asked if Aladdin is looking for new games. Not at present.
She has heard that Irving Kossoff is leaving Brentanos. This may
mean that the Aladdin games can get in Brentanos. Kossoff ban-
ned them after fighting with their salesman- even tho he loved
BALI.
Told her that I saw ACQUIRE discounted in the Value House catalog.
She asked when we could get some money from Bob Gellman.
Told her normally not until next January, but she could try to
contact him- that he has been so busy that I have had dif-
ficulty talking to him.
She is short of money again and is thinking of making a
