As Claude told me, Wald has rcd. $4,000 for his GAME with the safe cracking gadget and the final acceptance is waiting on their attempts to renegotiate with Jerry Lewis. Wald said that he made some of the changes I suggester and it's a "great game" now. Howard Wexler came up and Wald said that Howard told him that sometimes the royalties from a number of his games is enough to buy one good dinner. Wald wants to get together a package of games for Howard to try to place. I told him that Howard had said that he can turn out games himself, and doesn't need us. Wald said that he can't turn out com- plex games like POWER BROKER, etc. The fellow from Hasbro who is replacing John Lawless (didn't get around to asking whether Claude had given me his name correctly) is very pleasant. Wald wants to get together and I said I am busy thru 10/18.

Rcd. an envelope for from Walter Luc Haas. Repros of rules for LEVELER CHESS! (With a card from "Chess & Games Unlimited" - "World's Largest Game Store" - 10868 W. Pico Blvd., West Los Angeles, CA.). Also a repro of rules, board, etc. for IMPERIALISM (Which I reviewed in S&T # 46).
Rcd. a second copy of the booklet EN GARDE! (Game Designer's Workshop.) The game LEVELER CHESS is also called TERRANOVAN LEVELER CHESS.
From the Horns got a package from "Skytrex Ltd." that they had picked up while we were in Conn. [Connecticut] Had a note from John Walker and the following games: KINGDOMS, TRIREME, SEA STRIKE, andROMAN CIRCUS CHARIOT RACING. Also a catalog for "Skytrex" - mainly miniatures but the following games are listed: TRIREME, SEA STRIKE, KINGMAKER, DECLINE & FALL, ROMAN CHARIOT RACING, DIPLOMACY, CONFRONTATION, STRATEGY, GO.
They didn't include DECLINE & FALL and GUERRILLA, which they had promised to send - but KINGDOMS is an extra.
