Brought the beam compass to Claude's and left it with him. He
gave me the game CASTELLO. (Later discovered that one black piece
was missing. Put in one, of completely different shape, that I had
around.) Claude also gave me a sheet of wrapping paper with
"Breugel's" picture of active games. (Filed on shelf 34.) Loaned
me the Sept. SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN. (I can take out Martin's column, ex-
cept for the page that has part of an article on the back.)
Claude mentioned that in Strand he saw several copies of
CONTEMPORARY GAMES:---. The price was $28 but he wasn't
sure whether that was for one or both volumes.
In Haddon (I believe) I bought a copy of OFFICE PARTY, for
25¢. Probably some chips and cards are missing.
At an antique and book store bought an 1953 Plaything
PLAYTHINGS Directory Issue for 50¢. Also got a free copy of
"Earth Science" - badly water damaged, but readable.
(cont. from 9/18) [9/30]
We played 3-hand TREFFLES, the DOMINOES version (which he calls
SNAKES) - using the 75 - card deck.
The TREFFLES deck was turned down by "Heines." He is thinking a-
gain of putting it out himself, and I tried my best to disuade him.
Dave said that he'd like to by a copy of AGOG but couldn't find one.
Gave him one, but signed it to him and Eric.
