September 1975 - Friday 12 | |||
<br>Defenders Day (MD.) - 255th day - 110 days to come | |||
---- | |||
Answered letter rcd. 9/9. Mentioned <u>CARD BASEBALL</u>; <u>AGOG</u>, | |||
<u>EXECUTIVE DECISION</u>, <u>SLEUTH</u>, <u>PATTON</u>, <u>MACARTHUR</u>, <u>TOTALLY</u>, | |||
<u>PUSHOVER</u>, <u>INTERSECTION</u>. | |||
<br>Wrote for a copy of <u>CONCEAL</u> (see 9/10). Said I was enclosing a | |||
repro of my <u>S&T</u> column for #51, but forgot to <s>puit</s> put it in. | |||
<br>At "Lionel" in Westchester bought <u>ODD'S MAKER POKER DICE</u> | |||
for $2.99 plus tax. | |||
<br>Saw the 3M bookshelf games (not all titles) for about $8.50, and | |||
some of the huge HASBRO games for $6.99 | |||

so threw it away and put game in box on shelf 43). 2 books | |||
for possible use if I <s>g</s> do a book on "school" games - "Fundamentals | |||
of Mathematics" and "Biological Science" - 5¢ each. For 60¢ | |||
bought a box with a lot of colored pencils, 2 usable mechanical | |||
pencils, a draftsman's pencil, package of regular and one of | |||
jumbo paper clips, and a few more small things. | |||
At another Garage sale saw the game <u>BLARNEY</u> for 50¢ | |||
but decided not to get it. | |||
<br>Looking at the game <u>OSMOSIS</u> that I discovered on the floor | |||
next to the desk. It was sent to me for review last year but | |||
I forgot about it. | |||
<br>The <u>Laurences</u> here in the evening. Played <u>LASCA</u> with Pil and | |||
it is a very interesting game. Played 4-hand <u>QUICK TRIP</u>, | |||
first with <s>and</s> drawing one card, which was fun. Then played | |||
with choosing two cards to use for entire game. This | |||
seemed a little cut and dried. I think it would have been | |||
better partnership. | |||
<br>Discussed my Bloomingdale's appearance and Annette suggested a | |||
party type game. I thought that a simplification of | |||
<u>BABEL</u> might be suitable - and easy and cheap to prepare. Actually | |||
it would be more like <u>HAGGLE</u> (Stelledar), with each player | |||
being given a different value list for various <s>pl</s> ranks of | |||
playing cards. | |||
<br>Gave them a copy of <u>BEYOND TIC TAC TOE</u>. |
