September 1975 - Tuesday 2
245th day - 120 days to come

Proofread and otherwise put the finishing touches on my article for THE FAMILY CREATIVE WORKSHOP. Call from Marilyn Nierenberg for final confirmation of our date tomorrow.
Rcd. a listing of the programs at Bloomingdales (including one with Rudy Valee) and a note from Jean Green that she'd like to plan a meeting soon.
Rcd. a letter from S.K. Howard. He enclosed the rules for SPACE CHESS (Dimensional Enterprises, Inc.) played on an 8x8x8 board. Gives thanks for ZODIAC STAR CHESS and PHALANX (Whitman). Mentions HANNO, A JEDREZ MODERNO, RULES OF TOTAL CHESS AND OF QUADRIVALENT TOTAL CHESS, JET CHESS, Phil Cohen, CHESSERY FOR DUFFER AND MASTER; BEAT THE MARKET; BEYOND TIC TAC TOE, PATTON, KRIEGSPIEL (A.H.); CORNER IV; CROMPTON'S CHESS; ZODIAC STAR CHESS, Gini Scott, SIMULATION/GAMING/NEWS, MOVES; MIMIKRI, NEOCHESS. Also FAIRY CHESS REVIEW.
Called Herb Chanka about the SPECTACULARS (since he didn't call me). He also doesn't want the to supply me with a frame to test out my ideas. He said to just make drawings and if they like the ideas they'll have a model made. He has a meeting with Manny Lefkowitz next Monday morning at 10:30 and would like me to bring my drawings then. Told him that I was starting jury duty and we arranged that I would mail the drawing to Reiss, but mark the envelope to his - Herb's - attention. He asked if I had rcd. a call from Phil Orbanes. No. Well, he was supposed to call me to tell me that I could trust Herb. I told Herb that he had already told me, and that I had no doubts.
Preparing material to bring with me tomorrow to reproduce at S.P.I. THOUGHTWAVE and CONTIGO for Walter Luc Haas. 5-5 for S.K. Howard; looked at TANGLE but the rules are in the box cover. DOUBLE DEALER so that I can give the set to Claude.

(cont. from 9/3) [9/3]

At S.P.I. we talked about Malcolm Peskoff and finally discovered that he lives at [address]. (see 8/27.)
