<br>August 1975 - Thursday 21 | |||
<br>233rd day - 132 days to come | |||
---- | |||
To <u>Phil Orbanes</u>. He apologized for not calling me (see 8/19). I | |||
found out that I hadn't missed a quarter. | |||
<s>To <u>Bob Reiss</u>. Spoke to him</s> In connection with <u>SPECTACULARS</u>, he | |||
said that the fellow who does the molding for Reiss (and | |||
for Gamut of Games also I suppose) is interested in handling | |||
the whole package - paying me my royalties rather than Reiss. | |||
This would be better for me since he would give me mock ups | |||
of the spectacles to work with. His name: {<u>Herb Chanko</u> [phone number] | |||
<br>To Reiss. Spoke to <u>Bob Reiss</u> and to {<u>Jay Peterson</u> [phone number]. | |||
We spoke about 5x3 board, instead of the 4x4 board. | |||
Jay had a set of rules that <u>Harry Lorayne</u> sent in. He thought | |||
there is too many words and that it wasn't clear. Then I | |||
discovered that he meant the part that Harry had added | |||
to my original rules. I took a repro of the rules to clean | |||
them up - ASAP. Jay in the meantime will work with the plastic | |||
molder. | |||
<br>Spoke to <u>Manny Lefkowitz</u> about the <u>SPECTACULARS</u>. He had a | |||
handmade model of the frame with a maze on the bottom | |||
pc. Wanted to borrow the frame so that I could substitute | |||
my own bottom pcs. out of cardboard. He wouldn't give it to | |||
me. He did give me some steel balls and I also took two | |||
puzzles from the showroom with colored ball.s | |||
I mentioned <u>Chanko</u> and the possibility of getting a frame | |||
from him. Manny doesn't think so, but doesn't mind if I try. | |||
He is not sure whether they'll do 4 or 6, but wants at | |||
least 4 different ones. | |||
<br>Some ideas that I have been having for some time for | |||
<u>SPECTACULARS</u>. | |||
<br>"Bedroom eyes" - three plastic [triangle]s to be held in | |||
place by 2 projections each. The propor- | |||
tions should allow the triangles to pass between | |||
the projections. [drawing of circle with three triangular shapes inside] | |||
<br>"Starry eyes" - a loose plastic star has spaces | |||
for 5 balls. [drawing of a circle with lines and smaller circles forming a star shape] | |||
<br>"Cross eyes" - wall as shown allows balls | |||
to pass at either end. Object to get about 3 balls in each space. [drawing of two circles with lines connecting them to each other] | |||
<br>"Red eyes" - the background has red spots. a loose pc. | |||
in the shape of an eye [drawing of eye shape] must be moved to cover all | |||
the red. | |||
<br>To S.P.I. Spoke to <u>Jim Dunnigan</u>. Told him I was doing much | |||
better than earlier in the year. | |||
Made repros of <u>WOODEN SHIPS AND IRON MEN</u>. | |||
Took 3 copies of <u>MOVES</u> #22. Work in progress mentions <u>FIREFIGHT</u>, | |||
<u>THE RUSSIAN CIVIL WAR</u>, <u>AFTER THE HOLOCAUST</u>; <u>ISLAND WAR</u> Quadri - | |||
